The building and loft apartments are gorgeous.  The high ceilings and vast windows are not only impressive but always allow abundant light to enter and cheer up the space — even on a cloudy day. I always enjoyed the sunsets as the large windows allowed an unobstructed view. The maintenance of the building was always top-notch, and the landlord is very responsive. The location of the building is great-near 490. I miss it already!”

“We could not have asked for a better home for our growing family than the Academy Building. We had two children during the four years we lived there, but we eventually moved out of state for a job opportunity. We already miss the high ceilings and natural light of our apartment. We became very close with the staff of the Academy Building, as well as the staff at the great cafe inside. The landlord and building manager are both highly responsive and caring. The architecture and details of the building and the apartments are gorgeous and so unique, and the environment is friendly and welcoming. 

We felt very safe there, which was one of the reasons we chose the apartment in the first place. The location is definitely walkable to some great restaurants and coffee shops, as well as the Genesee River path. I would highly recommend the Academy Building. The only cons were that parking during daytime hours could be tough if you have more than one car and not much outdoor space other than the front patio (although charcoal grill there now!), both very typical for apartments in the city.”

The high ceilings and huge windows make an impression on anyone who visits. The space feels uplifting even on a gloomy Rochester day!

It has all the conveniences you need, like laundry in your own space and off-street parking. I’ve enjoyed urban loft living before, but there is no place that compares to the Academy building!”
